The collaboration between Saint-Gobain Glass and JCL Glass contributes to the diversion of glass waste from landfills. Instead of discarding glass waste from production, JCL Glass recycles the glass into cullet bags, which is then utilized by Saint-Gobain Glass in the manufacturing process. This waste reduction strategy aligns with the principles of a circular economy, maximising the value of materials and minimizing environmental harm.

Cullet generated after the delivery of glass to the end user. In the construction industry, post-consumer cullet mainly comes from the renovation and the dismantling of buildings. In the auto industry, it comes from the replacement of windscreens and the dismantling of cars at the end of their useful life.
